Scholarship Committee Announces 2011 Scholarship Winners
The Scholarship Committee is proud to announce this year's college scholarship winners. This is the fifth year that the scholarships have been awarded to LCAHRM members and their children. A $1,000 scholarship is provided to a member pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an HR-related field and a $500 award for a child or grandchild of LCAHRM members attending college. Please congratulate the following winners:
Caroline Black is the winner of the $1,000 member scholarship award. Caroline is currently working on her doctor of philosophy degree in industrial and organizational psychology at Capella University. She has both her undergraduate and master's degrees in business administration with a concentration in human resource management. In addition, Caroline holds an SPHR certification. Caroline is currently employed by Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 as a Human Resource Supervisor.
The Scholarship Committee had some very fine entries this year from children and grandchildren of members, which makes the selection process quite challenging. The LCAHRM is pleased to announce that Molly Walmer is the winner of the $500 student scholarship award. Molly is the daughter of Rose Walmer, our chapter member. Molly is currently a student at Juniata College, majoring in peace and conflict studies and Russian. In addition to Molly's fine academic record she has an impressive history of volunteerism and community service activity. She has served in numerous leadership roles in the Future Farmers of America including a year term as FFA State President. She is an active leader in her church group and has been involved in numerous missions, both domestic and foreign.
